Building Projects (continued)The finally building project was an enclosure of the walkway between the house and the garage. Plus we expanded the width so the room was 10 x 12 feet. We called it our MTF (Multi Tasking Facility). It housed our small beer/soda refrigerator, our bicycles hanging on one wall, a sewing machine for Nancy and a counter top for Nancy to cut material on. The project included reflooring most of the downstairs. New carpet in the living room, ceramic tile in the front entry, down the halls, guest bathroom, and the MTF and wood flooring in the kitchen. |

There was one more improvement project. We fenced in the back yard in an attempt to keep the deer from eating Nancy’s flowers. The liriope which had flourished around the gazebo for nearly 20 years was suddenly all eaten down to the nubs overnight. That was the final straw. We really hated to block our view of the woods out the back of the house, so the fence was a combination of 6-feet high wire fencing out the back and wood fencing on the two sides of the back yard that were visible from the street. The wood fence provided privacy and the wire fence, which from the house was almost invisible, gave us the beauty of living in the woods. |
